Where Science Meets Compassion

History

Dr. Hartmut Stecher, Ph.D., is the Principal Scientist and Founder of Cancer Treatment Navigator. This Oncology Healthcare Consulting Firm was formed by melding his interest in science and medicine with his drive to use that knowledge to help people. During Dr. Stecher’s academic research career, he studied processes in cell biology, signal transduction, and medical genetics – important biochemical research areas that help to understand the underlying molecular basis for cancer and how to develop targeted medicines. Dr. Stecher's work during his tenure at major biotechnology companies has focused on cancers of the prostate, ovaries, breast, soft tissue, as well as multiple myeloma and different lymphomas. The idea of developing Cancer Treatment Navigator is partially based on Dr. Stecher’s history of helping friends and family members over the years who have faced and coped with a cancer diagnosis. He would gather information and discuss the diagnosis and its implications with them, as well as research the best available treatment options for them. He provided these cancer patients with solid scientific input to better help them to make their own informed treatment decisions. This has been made possible due to Dr. Stecher's skills and passion to teach complex medical issues in easy to understand language. His detailed knowledge of cancer and history of working with respected experts in cancer research enabled him to optimally represent and support people in getting the best care for their illness. Through Cancer Treatment Navigator, Dr. Stecher feels fortunate to be able to take his passion for biomedical science and help more people who are confronted with cancer.

Scientific Communications Strategist

Mahima Trivedi

Mahima started her career as a scientist in research and development in the Biotechnology industry. Scientific communications turned out be a passion and she transitioned from patents and publications to developing disease awareness, product communications and educational programs for physicians and patients. Prior to joining Cancer Treatment Navigator, Mahima was involved in bringing specialty therapeutics and diagnostics to market in areas such as Autoimmune diseases and Cancer. The difficulties encountered by patients in navigating complex treatment choices were apparent despite efforts by drug companies, hospitals and patient organizations. Rapid advancements in genetic sequencing, targeted therapeutics and immunotherapy, presented opportunity only to those that got the right help at the right time. Resolving misinformation and access issues, and the willingness to help on a case by case basis to deliver the promise of personalized medicine inspired her to join the Cancer Treatment Navigator.
